IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Immaculate Conception

Light Shade: Immaculate conceptionScott Bennett | 1993 | Ceiling white, 100w Light bulb and shade (Venice Scroll by Oriel) on plywood panels | 209 cm x 155 cm | Collection of the artist

The “image-object” titled Immaculate conception was a plywood panelled frame, coated in white ceiling paint with a light bulb and light shade attached and wired. It was a recreation of the bathroom ceiling in the flat I was living in at the time.

This colour photograph of the work is part of an ongoing series that includes digital files and other photographic methods.
